9. 落花流水
This is an illustration work that beautifully describes the passage of time and the decline of authority and power through implication.
In this illustration, I express a single moment in time and the temporal persistence using Lotus as a drawing element for the meaning of Longevity like Minhwa and portraying the moment a flower falls into the flowing water. I used the Minhwa technique, adding different materials which are colour pencils.

NAK HWA YU SU (落花流水) is a four-character idiom for falling flowers and flowing water. It is a metaphor for the view of the passing spring or the weakening of power and significance as water flows. It is also compared to the affection between men and women who miss each other because falling flowers want to go with the water flow, and flowing water wants to carry the flowers.
There are times when people can't fully enjoy the present because they have lingering feelings about the past. And I also sometimes miss the past which I thought it was very pointless and painful, even though I often feel that time was beautiful and good.
However, I always regret not being faithful to the present, realising the truth that memories of the past are powerless and that I should focus on living in the present.
So with this realisation, this four-character idiom caught my eye and I want to express this as an illustration. Therefore, In this illustration, I focused on beautifully describing the passage of time and the decline of authority and power by implication.
