2. A Balmy Wish

This is my final year project. In this project, I wanted to encapsulate my personal style that has evolved throughout the three years of my degree.

A Balmy Wish is a hand-painted luxurious interior collection, highly inspired by Minhwa (Korean traditional folk painting). Using the Minhwa drawing technique and aesthetic of Henri Matisse, the designs of this project embrace humour and artisan style.

This project aims to give a message to people about what is authentic happiness. In Minhwa, flowers are used as a symbol of wish, happiness, comfort or longevity. And I utilised flowers as a metaphor to express my own interpretation of happiness.

Therefore, this collection can be everyone's story who lives in this modern society, so the design application targets open public spaces such as hotel lobbies, restaurants, bars or other independent restaurants that make more affordable even its luxurious spaces.
